Cheer

     Grades: 3rd-6th- to cheer, athletes must be registered by Friday, May 10th. Clinics and tryouts are mandatory to make a JV or Varsity Cheer squad. The number of cheerleaders on each squad will be limited. Those who do not make JV, Varsity or miss clinics and tryouts will have the option to be on a Pom Squad. 

     CLINICS: May 13, 14, 15, @ 6-8pm Norton Middle School gym

     TRYOUTS: Friday, May 17th @ 6pm Norton Middle School gym

**We take pride in conducting an honest and fair tryout.  All squad assignments are chosen by a team of judges that are not a part of our community. Athletes may see familiar faces such as tally judges and clinic coaches in the tryout rooms**

Flag Cheer

• Grades: Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd- Register by June 30th and you’re all set!

Pom Squad

         Not sure what a Pom Squad does? More info at www.nortonyouthfb.com/pomsquad 

• Open to 3rd-6th grades

• They will learn motions, jumps, kicks, facial expressions & 1-2 dances to perform between games (home games only)

• No cheers or chants

• Once they learn the dances, practices will be reduced to once a week

Registration deadline is June 30th for Flag Cheer, 2nd grade Cheer and Pom Squad

Practice: 

Mondays & Wednesdays 5:45-8:15pm starting mid-July and taper off as the season progresses

Uniqke Tavanello, owner & instructor is also the Barberton Middle School head cheer coach.  She and her staff have been great to work with! 

They also offer dance classes for tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and acro tumbling.

   • Tumbling is not just an individual effort; it's about synchronicity and teamwork. Develop camaraderie with your fellow cheerleaders as you work together to perfect routines.

   • Your safety is our priority. Learn under the supervision of coaches who will provide spot-on guidance, ensuring a secure environment for skill development.
